and Ruben Hernandez our benefactor,

as well as the military men and women who served at the

Borinquen Field/Ramey Air Force Base during the years, 1939 to 1973.


Designed and available for a post- high school student

to gain training and education in aviation and aerospace.

NUMBER OF AWARDS:  One scholarship per school year

MAXIMUM AMOUNT: $1,000 – RAFBHA will make the payment jointly to the recipient and university or institute

  • High school graduate

  • High school academic achiever of 2.75 or better

  • U.S. citizen and Puerto Rico resident. Student’s residency and citizenship status are determined by the institute of application.

  • Demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in aeronautics and/or aerospace, good in knowledge of science and math as verified by a current transcript.

  • Accepted as a full-time student as determined by the university or the institute of application

  • Proficient in English

  • Willing to overcome extraordinary obstacles while striving to reach his/her goals.

  • May serve as a role model to others
